Abhyang Snan, also known as Diwali Snan or Narak Chaturdashi Snan, is a sacred oil bath ritual performed before sunrise to cleanse the body and aura before welcoming Goddess Lakshmi on Diwali. The ritual is observed during Brahma Muhurat and is believed to destroy negativity, promote health, and prepare one for the spiritual and material blessings of the Diwali season.
In 2025, Abhyang Snan will be observed on Monday, 20th October, coinciding with Lakshmi Puja and Diwali Amavasya.
