Day 1 Evening – Vastu Shanti & Rakshogna Homam:

In Telugu households, before entering a new home, Vastu Shanti Homam and Rakshogna Homam are performed to remove any Vastu Dosha and clear negative energies created during construction.

Day 2 Morning – Entering the Home & Pooja Rituals:

  • Gau Pooja (Aavupooja): Worshipping a cow is an important tradition in Telugu households. The first being to enter the house is often a cow (Aavideegam), as it is considered a symbol of purity and divine blessings.
  • Entering the Home (Gruhapravesham): The homeowners enter while carrying a Kalasham (sacred pot) filled with Ganga Jal, turmeric, and mango leaves, symbolizing divine energy and purification.
  • Milk Boiling Ceremony (Palu Ponginchadam): Boiling milk till it overflows is a well-known Telugu tradition, symbolizing abundance, prosperity, and good fortune. The first offering is made to the deities.
  • Ganapathi Pooja & Homam: Lord Ganesha is worshipped first to remove obstacles and bring auspiciousness.
  • Maha Sankalpam & Punyahavachanam: This purifies the house and blesses the family members with positivity.

Main Homams Performed:

  1. Ganapathi Homam – To remove obstacles and ensure smooth life in the new home.
  2. Lakshmi Kubera Homam – Invoking Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Kubera for wealth and prosperity.
  3. Navagraha Homam – Seeking the blessings of the nine planets for good fortune.
  4. Vastu Homam & Japa – Aligning the home with natural energies and ensuring harmony.

Satyanarayana Swamy Vratham (Optional): Many Telugu families perform this pooja for family well-being and prosperity.
