Day 1 Evening – Vastu Shanti & Rakshogna Homam:
In Telugu households, before entering a new home, Vastu Shanti Homam and Rakshogna Homam are performed to remove any Vastu Dosha and clear negative energies created during construction.
Day 2 Morning – Entering the Home & Pooja Rituals:
- Gau Pooja (Aavupooja): Worshipping a cow is an important tradition in Telugu households. The first being to enter the house is often a cow (Aavideegam), as it is considered a symbol of purity and divine blessings.
- Entering the Home (Gruhapravesham): The homeowners enter while carrying a Kalasham (sacred pot) filled with Ganga Jal, turmeric, and mango leaves, symbolizing divine energy and purification.
- Milk Boiling Ceremony (Palu Ponginchadam): Boiling milk till it overflows is a well-known Telugu tradition, symbolizing abundance, prosperity, and good fortune. The first offering is made to the deities.
- Ganapathi Pooja & Homam: Lord Ganesha is worshipped first to remove obstacles and bring auspiciousness.
- Maha Sankalpam & Punyahavachanam: This purifies the house and blesses the family members with positivity.

- Most Telugu families prefer doing Gruhapravesham during Uttarayanam (January to June) and avoid it during Ashadam (July) and Pitru Paksha unless necessary.

We understand that you may have to cancel the Pooja ceremony for some reasons.
In case of customer initiated cancellations,

- If the pooja is cancelled for more than 96 hours, 90% amount will be refunded
- If the pooja is cancelled for 48 to 96 hours, 50% amount will be refunded
- If the pooja is cancelled for 0 to 48 hours, no amount will be refunded
We strive to provide the best experience possible, however in some cases if Pandit ji can not attend to the scheduled Pooja, BookMyPooja shall process full refund within 5 working days.
Yes, during the booking process you will be asked to select the Booking Date and Time. If you are unsure of the auspicious date and time, please choose the option "Let BookMyPooja team suggest auspicious time", and provide your Rashi, Nakshatra, and Preferred date range where you intend to perform. You can proceed with the booking this way.

While the Puja Packages include most of the items required during the Puja, there are certain household items that are expected that the Host shall arrange.
Things such as utensils, House God's Photos, Chowki / Paat / Chourang / God's aasan , Vastras for Daan, Loose coins. Please refer to the Puja Package section that outlines Home Preparation List required for the particular puja in detail.
