Why is Ganapathi Homam Performed?
Lord Ganesha is worshipped as the guardian of beginnings, the deity who governs the Mooladhara Chakra, which represents stability and material well-being. This homam helps purify the energy field around a person or family and brings positive vibrations, especially during:

- During challenging planetary periods like Ketu Mahadasha or Bhukti
It is also ideal for spiritual seekers and professionals who want clarity, focus, and peace of mind before a major life shift.
When to Perform Ganapathi Homam?
- Ideally performed during Brahma Muhurtham (4:30 AM to 6:00 AM), just before sunrise
- The exact date and time can be fixed as per the person’s Janma Nakshatra, Yoga, and Tithi
- Also recommended on Chaturthi tithi, especially during Sankashti Chaturthi
Ritual Procedure of Ganapathi Homam
The homam is conducted by well-trained Telugu Vedic priests and includes:
- Sankalpam and Ganapathi Pooja
- Kalasha Sthapana and Ganapathi Avahanam
- Chanting of powerful Ganapathi Mantras
- Offerings into the fire using Ashta Dravya (8 sacred items)
- Use of Arugampul (Bermuda grass) which is dear to Lord Ganesha
- Purnahuti and blessing ritual
The ritual brings in divine energy, removes internal and external obstacles, and sets a peaceful foundation for what follows.
