When to Perform Mangala Gowri Vratham?
- This vratham is observed on all Tuesdays (Mangalavaaram) during the Shravana Masam (Shravan month)
- Newly married women are traditionally advised to perform this vratham for five consecutive years
- The pooja should be performed in the morning with proper alankaram, offerings, and shastric procedures
Ritual Procedure of Mangala Gowri Vratham
- Begins with Ganapathi Pooja, Sankalpam, and Kalasha Sthapana
- Alankaram of Goddess Mangala Gowri with turmeric, kumkum, bangles, and flowers
- Pooja includes chanting of Gowri Ashtottaram, Mangala Gowri Katha, and offering naivedyam
- A minimum of five married women (Sumangalis) must be invited and offered Kumkum, Thamboolam, and Dakshina
- Final Harati is performed, and blessings are sought from elders and Sumangalis
