Hiranya Srardham

Hiranya Srardham is a simplified and sacred form of Parvana Srardham, performed when the Kartha (doer) is unable to provide cooked food to the Brahmins. Instead, uncooked offerings such as arisi (rice), paruppu (dal), vazhakkai (raw banana) and banana are given with utmost devotion to two or more Brahmins, who represent our pitrus (departed ancestors).

Hiranya Srardham is a simplified yet spiritually potent form of Shraddha karma where raw offerings are made to Brahmins without the need for elaborate cooking. It is ideal for those who live in apartments, abroad, or lack the facilities for full-scale Shraddha rituals.

The ritual is traditionally observed with devotion and precision, ensuring your Pitru karma is fulfilled with dignity.

Why Perform Hiranya Srardham?

  • Ensures annual Pitru Tarpana and Daanam is performed even with logistical constraints
  • Helps remove Pitru Dosha and brings peace to departed souls
  • Maintains ancestral connection and lineage blessings
  • Fulfills dharma without compromising on Vedic authenticity

  • On the Tithi (death date) of the ancestor as per Tamil Panchangam
  • During Pitru Paksha / Mahalaya Paksha (15-day ancestral fortnight)
  • On Amavasya for general Pitru blessings
  • On the first year after passing (Thevasam) or annually thereafter
