Tharpanam

Tharpanam is a sacred offering of water mixed with sesame seeds (Ellu) to our Pitrus (ancestors). It is believed that souls of the departed rely on their descendants to feed and satisfy them through rituals. Performing Tharpanam on Amavasya and other specified days ensures peace for the departed and blessings for the family.
