Why Is Satyanarayan Pooja So Important in Kerala?
In Malayalam tradition, "Satya" means truth and "Narayana" refers to Lord Vishnu. This pooja is considered a way of aligning with truth and divine order. It is often performed:
- On Pournami (Full Moon Day)
- On Ekadashi & Vishu (Malayalam New Year)
- On Ashtami Rohini (Sri Krishna Janmashtami)
- Before key milestones like Gruhapravesham (Housewarming), Weddings, Namakarana (Naming Ceremony), and Business Inaugurations
Malayali households believe this pooja helps remove doshas (karmic hindrances), attract wealth, and ensure family well-being.
Rituals Followed in Kerala-Style Satyanarayan Pooja
