Makar Sankranti marks the transition of the Sun into Makara Rashi (Capricorn) and is a harvest festival celebrated with gratitude to nature.

• Invocation of Surya Devaru with flowers, Akshata (sacred rice), and Vedic mantras

• Offerings include jaggery (bella), sesame seeds (ellu), water, and flowers
• Chanting of Surya Gayatri Mantra and performance of Surya Namaskar
