Significance of Kumbha Vivaha
As per Vedic Astrology, Mangal Graha (Mars) is considered a highly malefic planet when placed in the 1st, 4th, 7th, 8th, or 12th house of a person’s horoscope. This condition is known as Manglik Dosha and can cause delays in marriage, conflicts, or separation if not properly addressed.
The 7th house in a horoscope represents marriage and partnerships. If Mars is positioned there, it can create turbulence in relationships. Kumbha Vivaha is a remedy to counteract this dosha and ensure a blissful marital life.
Why is Kumbha Vivaha Important?
If a Manglik woman marries a non-Manglik man without proper remedies, it is believed that there could be marital discord, health issues, financial struggles, or even loss of a spouse. To avoid such situations, Kumbha Vivaha is performed as a precautionary measure.
Apart from Mars, Sun, Saturn, Rahu, and Ketu in specific positions can also cause partial Manglik Dosha.
When to Perform Kumbha Vivaha?
- If a woman has Manglik Dosha, she should perform Kumbha Vivaha before her actual marriage to nullify its effects.
- Tuesdays are considered auspicious for this ritual.
- The date can be finalized as per the Rashi Nakshatra of the woman.
How is Kumbha Vivaha Performed?
- The woman symbolically marries a Kumbh (earthen pot) in a nearby temple or sacred place under the guidance of experienced Kannada Pandits.
- The procedure is conducted just like a real wedding, with all traditional rituals.
- After the completion of the ceremony, the pot is broken, signifying the removal of dosha.
- After this ritual, the woman is considered freed from Manglik Dosha and can marry a suitable partner without any negative influences.
Benefits of Kumbha Vivaha
- Removes Manglik Dosha and its malefic effects.
- Ensures a stable, long, and happy married life.
- Prevents issues related to second marriages.
- Reduces childbirth-related complications caused by Mangal Dosha.
- Brings peace, prosperity, and harmony into married life.
