- Ganesh Chaturthi is dedicated to Lord Ganesha, the son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvathi.
- This festival occurs every year on the 4th day of Shukla Paksha in the month of Bhadrapada.
- It is celebrated for 10 days and concludes on Anant Chaturdashi.

On this day, a beautiful Vigraham (idol) of Lord Ganesha is installed in the house or at a public place. The following rituals are performed:
- Prana Pratistha: Infusing life energy into the idol.
- Sodashaupachara Puja: 16 different forms of offerings to Lord Ganesha, including:
- Avahana: Invoking Lord Ganesha
- Asana: Offering a seat
- Padya: Washing of feet
- Arghya: Offering water
- Achamana: Offering drinking water
- Snana: Holy bath
- Vastra: Offering new clothes
- Gandha: Applying sandalwood paste
- Pushpa: Offering flowers
- Dhoopa: Incense offering
- Deepa: Lighting the lamp
- Naivedya: Offering food (Modaks, Laddu, Fruits)
- Tamboolam: Offering betel leaves and nuts
- Aarti: Performing aarti with lamps
- Mantra Japa: Reciting Lord Ganesha’s mantras
- Pradakshina & Namaskara: Circumambulation and bowing down in reverence
