Significance of the Roka Ceremony

The Roka Ceremony marks the formal initiation of marriage between two families. It symbolizes the official confirmation of the alliance and the blessings of elders and deities for a harmonious, prosperous union.

This pre-wedding ritual brings both families together in a sacred bond, invoking divine blessings, fostering emotional harmony, and preparing for upcoming wedding festivities.

When to Perform the Roka Ceremony?

  • Conducted on a Shubh Muhurat mutually selected by both families
  • The date is chosen based on the Rashi, Nakshatra, and family traditions of the bride and groom
  • Often held at the bride’s or groom’s residence or a family event venue

Roka Ceremony Rituals & Procedure (Live Only)

This puja is conducted live via video call by an experienced North Indian Hindi-speaking Pandit from our Vedic center. Your family performs the ritual on-site with real-time guidance and mantra chanting from our Pandit.

Ritual Flow:

  2. Kalash Puja – Establishing sacred energies to purify and sanctify the occasion
  3. Ashirwad Ceremony – Elders from both families bless the bride and groom for a blissful future
  4. Exchange of Shagun & Gifts – Fruits, dry fruits, sweets, and clothes are exchanged between families
  5. Sankalpa & Mantra Chanting – The couple and families take a vow before the deities
  6. Aarti – Concluding ritual for divine blessings and positive beginnings
