Significance of the Haldi Ceremony

The Haldi Ceremony is one of the most sacred and joyful rituals in Indian weddings. It is performed to invoke the blessings of Lord Ganesha, ensuring that the wedding is free from obstacles and filled with auspiciousness.

Haldi Ceremony Rituals & Procedure (Live-Only ePuja)

This puja is conducted remotely by a trained Hindi-speaking North Indian Pandit at a Vedic center. The family participates live via video call. Your name, gotra, and wedding details are included in the Sankalpa.

Ritual Flow:

  • Gauri Ganesh Puja – To begin the ceremony with auspicious blessings and remove any dosha
  • Haldi Preparation – Mixture of Haldi (turmeric), Chandan (sandalwood), and oil prepared by the Pandit
  • Haldi Application:
    • The Pandit applies the Haldi first using Durva grass
    • Followed by family members and elders applying Haldi with blessings
  • Ashirwad (Blessings) – Elders bless the bride or groom with prosperity, harmony, and good fortune
