Pitru Paksha Taddinam

Pitru Paksha or Mahalaya Paksha is a sacred 15-day lunar period in the Bhadrapada month during which Hindus pay homage to their ancestors (Pitrus) through Shraddha rituals. This is the time when Pitrus are believed to descend to the earthly plane, and it becomes the duty of the elder son to perform Shraddha, Tarpanam, and Annadanam, while all family members participate in the danam and pooja.
