Why Is Vahan Pooja Important?

Procedure for New Vehicle Pooja
- Ganapathi Pooja – Invoking Lord Ganesha to remove obstacles
- Sankalpam – Stating the intention and details of the owner and vehicle
- Vahana Lakshmi Pooja – Prayers to Lakshmi Devi for wealth and blessings
- Kumkum, turmeric, sandalwood paste, and lemon placed under each wheel
- Karpoor Aarti – Camphor aarti to the front of the vehicle
- Drishti removal – Rotating lemon or chili around the vehicle and breaking a coconut to absorb negative energy
- In Tamil tradition, some people also apply kolam and tie mango leaves or flowers on the vehicle before the pooja
When to Perform Vahan Pooja?
- On the day of purchase, before or immediately after driving the vehicle home
- Auspicious days: Friday, Monday, Vijayadashami, Akshaya Tritiya, or on Pournami / Amavasya
- Timings and muhurtham can be selected based on Janma Nakshatra and Tamil Panchangam
