Nakshatras Under Dhanishta Panchaka
If a person passes away under the following five Nakshatras, Dhanishta Panchaka Shanti must be performed:
- Dhanishta
- Shatabhisha
- Purva Bhadrapada
- Uttara Bhadrapada
- Revati
Procedure of Dhanishta Panchaka Shanti
The ritual is performed by experienced Vedic priests and includes the following steps:
- Ganapathi Pooja – To remove obstacles and ensure the smooth execution of the ceremony.
- Navagraha Pooja – To pacify planetary influences.
- Kula Devata Pooja – Honoring the family deity for protection.
- Kalasha Avahanam – Invocation of deities into consecrated pots (Kalashas).
- Shodashopachara Pooja – Offering 16 traditional rituals to deities as per Vedic scriptures.
- Rudrabhishekam – Sacred bath to Lord Shiva’s Linga with Vedic mantras.
- Nakshatra Japam – Chanting of mantras to pacify the Nakshatra under which the death occurred.
- Navagraha Japam – Special recitation to seek blessings from the nine planetary deities.
- Homam (Havan) – Fire ritual offering prayers for peace and protection.
- Danam (Charity) – Offering food, clothes, and essentials to Brahmins and the needy, ensuring blessings for the departed soul.
When to Perform Dhanishta Panchaka Shanti?
The ritual must be conducted after the 15th day of passing and should ideally be completed within three months. However, if necessary, it can be performed within six months at the latest.

Your puja booking is inclusive of Pandit ji Dakshina. You are not expected to Pay anything beyond this. Our Pandits are trained to not ask for extra dakshina. If you intend to pay after the puja voluntarily, that is left between you and Pandit ji, and BookMyPooja would not be part of this interaction.
Each Pandit ji s banking details are registered with BookMyPooja. After the Puja is over, Dakshina is transferred online directly to their bank account
